Rug Urine Treatment (R.U.T.)

Pet urine is often very difficult to remove from area rugs.  If not removed quickly and properly, the urine will leave a lingering odor that is nearly impossible to remove.  At Amarillo Chem-Dry, our advanced process makes it possible to remove even the most difficult urine odors and stains from delicate area rugs.

Chem-Dry’s exclusive Rug Urine Treatment (R.U.T.®) process guarantees the removal of pet odor from most area rugs.  R.U.T.® is professionally designed and researched to eliminate odors and urine completely, deep within the rug’s fabric.  With the most advanced technology in rug cleaning, R.U.T.® is the most effective way to remove any pet odor or stain from area rugs.

Pet urine causes permanent damage to your area rugs and fabrics if not removed properly.  To maintain a healthy environment for you and your loved ones, call Amarillo Chem-Dry today!

Where does the pet odor come from?

Pet urine is associated with two different sources of odor.  The first comes from the bacteria growth in warm, dark places with an unlimited food supply.  The decomposing urine creates waste materials and gases causing an unpleasant, lingering odor.  The second source of odor is a chemical odor that stays present even when the bacteria have been terminated.  When R.U.T.® comes in contact with the source of the odor, this innovative product bonds itself with the urine crystals for a permanent urine and odor removal.

Why is pet urine in carpet difficult to remove?

Ordinary cleaners cannot completely remove and neutralize pet urine.  Trying to clean the rug yourself or using normal steam cleaning methods can be very difficult and even cause the urine to spread.  The water and force of the water spreads the urine molecules to new places, affecting your rug in more areas.  R.U.T. was designed for the purpose of completely removing any pet urine and odor from your area rugs while making your life easier.

Chem-Dry’s Rug Urine Removal Process

  1. Before beginning our R.U.T.® treatment, our highly trained technicians will vacuum both the top and the bottom of the rug with our industrial vacuums.  To remove excess oils and dust from the rug, we use our special rug dusting equipment.
  2. Our Rug Urine Removal process is a two-step process that takes around 5 hours to completely remove urine from your rug.
  • R.U.T. Step One: Using Chem-Dry’s rug cleaning system and cleaning pit, the rug is fully immersed, altering the odor causing molecules and pulling them from the fibers.
  • R.U.T. Step Two: Using a concentrated powder that dissolves in water, step two provides an acidic solution specially designed to remove and rinse urine deposits from area rugs.
  1. After the two-step R.U.T.® process is complete, your rugs will be thoroughly cleaned using a green certified product that is wool safe.  Your rugs will then be dried quickly on our drying racks, groomed and prepared for pickup or delivery.
